Angélique Tégé is a media personality and broadcast producer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Her north Texas television debut was in 1998 on Channel 8ʼs Metro. Metro was a high-energy magazine show from WFAA celebrating African-American life. As the showʼs roaming reporter and associate producer, Angélique focused on the heart of the community through in-depth reports and commentaries.
In 2007, after WFAA canceled the award winning and industry recognized Metro, Angélique was moved over to its short-lived replacement show, Young Street. On Young Street, she worked behind and in front of the camera; field producing, videotaping, editing and writing segments while co-hosting Y>ST.
Born and raised in New York City, Angélique is a former on-air talent and associate producer of two educational programs on Court TV (now TruTv), ʻWhatʼs the Verdict?ʼ and Justice Factory, both Cable Ace Award nominated programs, which taught teens how the law worked in their lives. Angélique found, and still finds it is important to bring a better understanding and awareness of major issues to the younger generation.
Angélique was nominated for a 2004 Emmy Award for a discussion segment on bad grammar by broadcasters; and again in 2007 for a cultural documentary on Gospel music. In 2000, she received a Dallas Press Club Katie Award nomination for a story about a gifted young artist born without fingers; and again in 2001 for a story about Santa Claus in the ‘hood. So far, she’s won a regional NABJ award for best news/feature story: “Teens React to 9/11”.
Currently, Angélique is returning to her broadcast roots; producing informative, empowering, inspiring and entertaining stories. Look for The Set on ION TELEVISION (KPXD Dallas-Fort Worth) Saturdays at noon.
